Church members have been brainwashed – KSM

Media personality, Kwaku Sintim-Misa has used his platform to raise concerns about how some religious practices affect followers, especially after the failed prophecy linked to the NPP primaries.

The satirist said the real victims in such situations are ordinary church members during the latest airing of his KSM show monitored by MyNewsGh.

“These pastors have big congregations,” he said. “And sadly, many of them are being brainwashed. They are confused, but they don’t even know they are confused.”

He shared examples of extreme obedience he has witnessed over the years. “I’ve seen people eat grass because a pastor told them to.

I’ve seen people rush to church with passports for prayers. I’ve seen pregnant women stepped on,” he said.

According to KSM, these actions show deeper problems. “This is not normal thinking. Mental health is a serious issue, and we don’t talk about it enough in churches,” he stated.

He explained that many followers defend their pastors even when things go wrong. “If you advise them, they will insult you. They will say, ‘If my pastor says eat grass, I will eat.’ That is dangerous,” he said.

KSM also linked this behavior to desperation. “People are struggling. They want hope. So when someone sells hope, they buy it,” he noted.

He warned that blind loyalty only encourages abuse. “When you stop thinking for yourself, someone will think for you,” he said.

Despite his criticism, KSM said he feels sympathy for followers. “I feel sorry for them. Most of them are just looking for answers,” he added.

His comment his hinged on prophet Eberhard’s failed prophesying concerning the just ended New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries.
