Excuse that Ofori-Atta is afraid to come back is frivolous—Kwakye Ofosu

Felix Kwakye Ofosu has dismissed claims that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is afraid to return to Ghana.

Speaking on TV3’s KeyPoints monitored by MyNewsGh, the Government Spokesperson said he does not believe the claim that Ken fears how he will be treated.

“I don’t believe it, not even a bit,” he said. “Even if Ken himself told me, I wouldn’t believe it.”

According to him, Ken’s actions over the past year show he has been trying to avoid the law.

“I judge him by his conduct, not his words,” he stated. “Everything he has done shows he has been trying to evade justice.”

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu described the fear claim as a “contrived excuse.”

“He says he wants to come but he is afraid. That story does not make sense to me,” he added.

He insisted that Ghana has clear legal systems and protections for anyone accused of wrongdoing.

“If bail conditions are unfair, you go to court,” he said. “People have done it before and succeeded.”

He urged Ghanaians not to accept excuses.

“Let us not create reasons for someone accused of crime to escape justice,” he stressed.
