Fuseini continues fine form with assist in Union SG’s victory after robbery attack

Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini continued his strong start to the season on Saturday, providing an assist as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise beat Westerlo 5-1 away from home in their Belgian Pro League opener.

The 24-year-old scored four goals during pre-season and now has two assists in three competitive appearances this season.

Westerlo took an early lead through Norman Bassette, but Union SG quickly responded and went on to record a big victory.

RTBF’s match report did not state whether Fuseini started the game or came on as a substitute. However, it confirmed that the Ghanaian provided an assist during Union SG’s impressive performance.

The result gives Union SG a strong start to their league campaign. The club have already won the Belgian Super Cup this season and are also competing in the Champions League qualifiers.

Fuseini has also made a strong return after a difficult incident last month.

The former Sturm Graz forward was attacked and robbed by a group of armed men in Brussels. The attackers reportedly stole his Rolex watch, wallet and two iPhones.

Fuseini was taken to hospital for checks but suffered only minor injuries. He has since returned to full training and is now enjoying a bright start to the new campaign.
