Reports reaching MyNewGh.com indicate that Ghana’s tallest man, Sulemana Abdul Samed, also known as Awuche, has died.
The 33-year-old died after battling an illness related to gigantism.
The cause of his death has not yet been officially disclosed.
However, Awuche reportedly died at the Tamale Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Monday, July 27, 2026.
His death comes weeks after Ibrahim Mahama announced that he was going to foot his medical bills
Awuche gained international recognition after a BBC feature highlighted his extraordinary height and the health challenges associated with acromegaly.
In recent weeks, he appealed to the public for financial assistance after doctors recommended surgery following a severe leg infection.
