Government can’t employ everybody – Oscar Provencal tells graduates

Actor Oscar Provencal has said graduates need to adjust their expectations about employment, arguing that government alone cannot provide jobs for everyone.

According to the actor, the increasing number of graduates entering the job market has made traditional employment opportunities limited.

“Government can’t employ everybody. All the jobs are saturated.

“So if you are coming with a mindset to get a white-collar job, they are so limited and so few,” he said.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show, Provencal said some graduates focus too much on formal employment instead of exploring opportunities where they can use their knowledge to create value.

He argued that education should not only be viewed as a pathway to a salaried job but also as a tool that can be applied in different areas, including entrepreneurship and supporting existing businesses.
