Actor Oscar Provencal has criticised what he described as a mindset among some graduates who view university education mainly as a route to securing formal employment.
Provencal said some courses serve as stepping stones to other opportunities and should not be judged only by their direct connection to available jobs.
“A lot of people do degrees as stepping stones to other fields,” he said peaking on the GTV Breakfast Show, .
He also added that some professionals pursue different routes to reach their career goals.
He said the value of education depends on how individuals apply the knowledge gained, particularly in areas where businesses require support.
Provencal encouraged graduates to look beyond job applications and consider how their expertise can contribute to businesses and economic activities around them.
