Richard Ahiagbah has responded to questions on Channel One TV regarding Ken Ofori-Atta’s immigration situation in the United States, focusing on legal compliance and medical care arrangements.
He said the adjustment process was necessary to align Ofori-Atta stay with US immigration requirements while he undergoes treatment.
“You cannot be an illegal migrant in this country and be afforded all the courtesies, or even if you have money,” he said.
He explained that the decision to apply for status adjustment was meant to ensure continuity in treatment without legal interruptions.
“What he did is to be able to clear the immigration burden so he can focus on the treatment,” he said.
Ahiagbah added that the process does not change Ken’s initial reason for travelling to the US, which he said was medical-related.
He also addressed concerns raised in public discussions, stating that Ken remains under treatment and has not changed his core circumstances.
“Ken is not run away to anywhere. I don’t understand the logic,” he said.
