Dr Mrs Clementine Odei, Head of Unit at the University of Ghana Medical School Clinic, has revealed how a pastor (name withheld) infected his wife with HIV.
According to Dr Odei, she recently handled the case and was concerned that the woman contracted the virus from her husband, who is a known man of God.
“Oh, I handled a case yesterday, and my heart was beating. It was a pastor who infected the wife,” she said in a video monitored by MyNewsGh.com while on advocacy
The trained Medical Doctor used the case to urge people entering relationships to undergo HIV testing instead of relying only on assurances from their partners.
“If anybody comes to tell you that they are in love with you, let them check there, then you also check,” she said.
She also advised people to remain faithful, use condoms or abstain from sex as part of measures to prevent HIV infection.
