New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairmanship aspirant Paul Afoko has touted his experience, organisational ability and leadership qualities as the key attributes needed to reposition the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Afoko presented himself as a leader capable of rebuilding the NPP, describing the National Chairman’s role as requiring more than administration but also active mobilisation, reconciliation and service.
“As National Chairman I will be a team player, a field commander, a reconciler, an organiser, a fundraiser, a disciplinarian, a listener and a servant of the party,” he said.
Mr. Afoko said his leadership approach would focus on restoring the strength of the party’s grassroots structures and ensuring that members at all levels feel connected to the national leadership.
“The NPP must return power to the structures. We must strengthen polling stations. We must strengthen electoral areas.
“We must strengthen constituencies. We must give regional executives the tools to work,” he stated.
He argued that his previous experience in managing party structures demonstrates his ability to provide the organisation and discipline required to strengthen the NPP.
Mr. Afoko also stressed the need for a two-way communication system within the party, where concerns from grassroots members inform decisions at the national level.
He expressed confidence that his combination of organisational experience, reconciliation skills and commitment to service positions him to lead the NPP towards renewal and improved electoral fortunes in 2028.
