Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has responded to claims that he attacked the person of Nana Yaa Jantuah during the August 6, 2026 demonstration.
According to him, he did no such thing but was just articulating the purpose for which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) demonstrated on the day.
He says the NDC are making a big claim out of his comments just because the demonstration was a success.
Afenyo Markin spoke on Good Morning Ghana on Accra-based Metro TV when he made this known.
“I am human; I can make mistakes, and I do make mistakes, but I am very deliberate in my choice of words when I have the opportunity to speak for and on behalf of the party. I am mindful of my responsibility, but you know my friends in the NDC; they can do their mischief and get people to believe their mischief.
The very concerns of the demonstration were what was articulated. There was no attack on anybody, but a friend of mine over the weekend engaged me in a chat and I said but why are you guys doing this and he said leader you guys your demonstration was successful and we wanted to kill it so the strategy was to use Nana Yaa Jantuah to kill the demonstration’s success,” he said.
