Baba Jamal addressed allegations that delegates in the NDC Ayawaso East primary received gifts from his camp.
“So, if you give television sets to people, what is wrong with it?” he asked.
“Is this the first time I’m gifting things? Every Christmas, every occasion, I have put down 2.5 million to give free loans to people.”
He stressed that the intent behind giving gifts matters more than the act itself.
“It is not the item, it is the intention. I have spoken to people, and I hope they will see reason with me and come along with me,” Baba Jamal said.
He also questioned the timing concern raised by journalists.
“As you are talking now, if I give you a gift, wouldn’t you take it? Do we have a time we give gifts?” he asked.
