Rapper Sarkodie believes social media users often read meanings into posts that were never intended by the person who shared them.
Speaking about the debate surrounding Stonebwoy’s recent tweet, the rapper said he understands how a message can be interpreted differently because he has experienced similar situations himself.
According to him, timing can completely change how people receive a post.
“I’ve been there several times,” Sarkodie said.
He recalled an occasion when he posted a photo of gari, groundnuts, sugar and milk, one of his favourite meals.
“I literally posted my food and people said I was talking about the president. They connected it to politics when I was simply about to eat,” he explained.
Using that experience as an example, Sarkodie said he is careful about assuming the meaning behind someone else’s post.
“So I don’t want to play that part where my brother says something and people immediately decide what he means,” he said.
The rapper maintained that without direct clarification from Stonebwoy, any interpretation remains speculation.
