Medeama beat Nations FC to win 2026 Champion of Champions

Medeama SC have won the 2026 Champion of Champions after beating Nations FC 2-0 at the TNA Stadium on Sunday, August 30.

Goals from defender Fatawu Sulemana and winger Emmanuel Annor gave the Ghana Premier League champions their first trophy ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Medeama started the game strongly and took the lead when Sulemana calmly converted a penalty.

The Mauve and Yellow continued to control the game after the break and doubled their lead through Annor.

The winger produced a brilliant finish against his former club, calmly lifting the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

The victory gives Medeama a strong start to the new season as they add the Champion of Champions trophy to their collection.

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is set to begin from September 4 to 7, 2026.

However, Medeama will first turn their attention to the CAF Champions League. The Ghanaian champions will host DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in the first leg of their preliminary-round tie on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Nations FC will also begin their continental campaign next weekend. They will travel to Bamako, Mali, to face FC Diarra at the Stade Mamadou Konaté on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Champion of Champions brings together the winners of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup and serves as the traditional curtain-raiser for the new domestic football season.
