Volta Region had earlier cancelled out Ransford Siaw’s early goal, but Alhassan’s second-half strike restored Eastern Region’s lead. Samuel Zakaria later added a third goal to seal the victory.
Alhassan’s impressive performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
Frimpong also made a big impact for Ashanti Region in their 2-0 win over Western Region in the final Group A game of the day.
The youngster opened the scoring in the 51st minute before Mohammed Dayvon added a second goal in the 82nd minute to secure all three points for Ashanti Region.
Frimpong was named the Most Valuable Player after his impressive display.
