Why are you afraid to approach me? Military woman questions civilians over formal greetings

A military woman is asking why civilians appear too afraid to approach her casually, joking that the situation could even be affecting her chances of finding a partner.

“I don’t know what to talk at this point because I’m very confused. I don’t know why some civilians will see me and be afraid to approach me and be afraid to talk to me,” she said.

She said people often stick to formal greetings whenever they meet her instead of simply speaking to her by name.

“Una no fit say hi mama or call me by my name. Everytime, ‘Good morning ma’, ‘Good morning ma’, or ‘officer’, who be officer?” she asked.

The military woman then turned her attention to those who may be interested in dating her, questioning why they appear reluctant to make their intentions known.

“Una no fit say, ‘Mama, can I have your number?’ or ‘Can you be my girlfriend?’ Why una dey do me like this?” she said.

Her comments appeared to be a light-hearted complaint about how her military uniform and profession may influence the way civilians interact with her.
