NDC is confused – Evans Nimako speaks amid NPP primaries

Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Nimako has dismissed comments from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about the NPP flagbearer election, describing their position as contradictory and unclear.

Reacting to claims that the NDC was setting up a coalition center to monitor the NPP election, Nimako questioned the consistency of the government’s messaging.

“I think the NDC is confused,” he said.

He referenced earlier remarks attributed to Mustapha Gbande , which he said contradicted comments made by Dr Rashid Tanko.

“Yesterday I heard Mustapha Gbande say the NDC is not, and will never be interested in what the NPP is doing today,” Nimako stated.

“Yet we are also hearing that they are setting up a coalition to collate our results.”

According to Nimako, the differing positions highlight a lack of clarity within the NDC’s camp.

“If you listen to Gbande and then listen to Tanko, it tells you the level of confusion they find themselves in,” he said.

He added that any attempt by the NDC to monitor the NPP process was unnecessary, given the party’s experience with internal elections.

“They have put up a coalition booth to collate our results,” Nimako said. “I think they are learning a lot from us.”

Nimako declined to expand further on the issue, saying the focus should remain on the ongoing voting process.

“That’s all I would say,” he concluded.
