The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned alleged incidents of vote buying and inducement during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary and announced the start of a formal investigation.
In a statement issued on Saturday, February 7, 2026, and signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party said its leadership had been alerted to “widespread incidents of inducement and vote buying allegedly perpetuated by some aspirants.”
“The party vehemently condemns these actions in no uncertain terms,” the statement said, describing the acts as “an affront to the values and principles of the party and the reset agenda the party is championing.”
The NDC announced immediate steps to address the matter.
“The party is instituting a full-scale investigation into this matter and will take swift action against any candidate found culpable,” it stated.
