Nigerian singer Davido has claimed he would win Nigeria’s presidency if the country held what he described as a free and fair election.
Speaking during a livestream with online streamer Carter Efe, the award-winning artiste said he has no interest in politics under the current system because he does not believe elections are transparent.
“I don’t get time for all those ones. Trust me. I think I’ll just play my music until there’s transparency. Then I can go ahead,” he said.
Davido argued that he would have no difficulty winning an election if Nigerians were allowed to vote in a transparent process.
“Because me, nobody can beat me in any election. Ever. Free and fair elections, eh! Make everybody from Nigeria vote. I go win,” he stated.
The singer, however, said he believes the country’s electoral system lacks transparency.
“But because of the system, there’s no transparency. They’re the right results. I want to see whether they walk on to portion. I really want to see,” Davido added.
