NPP has not learned from its defeat – Fiifi Kwetey

NDC General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey has accused the NPP of relying on scandal allegations and political attacks in an attempt to regain public support, arguing that the opposition party has failed to understand why Ghanaians voted it out of power.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, Kwetey said he could see what he described as desperation among NPP members, particularly their attempts to find scandals they could use against the governing NDC.

“I see, for example, the level of desperation on the part of our friends on the other side. You can feel that they believe they can literally scavenge and get some scandals, hoping that somehow that is going to make the people of Ghana turn their minds back to them,” he said.

He argued that the NPP’s approach showed the party had not learnt from its electoral defeat, adding that Ghanaians had become more discerning and were no longer easily influenced by political messaging.

“Ghanaians have become super discerning, and therefore you cannot simply gaslight Ghanaians anymore. You can’t manipulate, you can’t lie to Ghanaians anymore,” he stated.

Kwetey further criticised the opposition for treating almost every government action as a scandal, saying its members appeared convinced that constant attacks could put pressure on the administration.

“Continue doing what you’re doing. That’s the best way for you to continue in opposition because obviously they have not learned at all,” he said.
