Afenyo-Markin has challenged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to intensify their efforts ahead of the 2028 general elections, asserting that no seat held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be safe.
Speaking to executives of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) in Parliament on Wednesday, March 18, the Minority Leader urged grassroots mobilisation, discipline, and loyalty as key ingredients for electoral success.
“If elections were held today, NPP would have the majority, but that requires hard work and commitment. We believe you are ready to take up the mantle,” he said.
The Effutu MP also criticised the current administration for not fulfilling campaign promises, including the 24-hour economy initiative, higher cocoa prices for producers, and controlling recent utility tariff increases.
Samuel Awuku, MP for Akuapim North, echoed the call, saying the NPP will contest every NDC-held seat vigorously.
“We will approach every NDC seat like any other. The 2028 election is all play—no NDC seat is safe,” he stated.
Both leaders emphasised that the party remains inclusive, urging TESCON members to reject claims of ethnic marginalisation and reaffirming the NPP’s commitment to representing all Ghanaians.
