Otto Addo sacked

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sacked the head coach of the male senior national team, Black Stars, Otto Addo.

This announcement was made after Ghana’s defeat to Germany in an international friendly match ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

In a post announcing the sacking, the Ghana Football Association said it will announce a new technical direction in due course.

“Ghana Football Association has parted ways with @blackstarsofghana_ Head Coach Otto Addo with immediate effect.

The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course,” the FA said.

Otto Addo led Ghana to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after the country failed to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in over 20 years.

There were calls for the coach to be sacked after the team had been playing poorly for some time.
