Former Ghana Technical Director Winfried Schafer has shared the moment Otto Addo learned that he had been dismissed as Black Stars coach after Ghana’s international friendly against Germany.
Schafer said the news came as a surprise and remembered that Addo looked deeply affected after being informed by officials of the Ghana Football Association.
“I was just as surprised as Otto Addo,” Schafer told Transfermarkt.
“He was informed of the separation after the Germany game. Otto came back to our table that night, where we were sitting analysing the game, and I could see immediately that he was shaken.”
“I asked him, ‘Otto, what’s wrong?’ And then he said he’d been fired.”
