President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians, especially Muslims, to sustain the values of Ramadan beyond the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
Speaking at Independence Square, he said Eid should go beyond celebration and serve as a reminder of the principles observed during the fasting period.
“Eid is not only a celebration, it is a call to continuity,” he stated, urging people to reflect those values in their daily lives.
He encouraged citizens to show kindness, fairness, and a sense of responsibility toward others.
“Let us carry forward the spirit of Ramadan in how we treat one another, in how we serve our communities, in how we uphold justice and fairness,” he said.
The President also highlighted the importance of unity, pointing to Ghana’s religious and cultural diversity as a strength.
“Muslims and Christians celebrate each other’s holy days and coexist as one people. This harmony is a precious gift, and we must protect it,” he added.
