The Ghana Rent Control Commission is engaging the National Service Authority to deploy more than 2,000 personnel under a task force dubbed “Yellow Yellow” to enforce rent laws nationwide.
Acting Rent Commissioner Frederick Opoku said at a press briefing that the personnel would investigate rent-related violations and serve notices on landlords who breach the law, requiring them to report to the Commission for further action.
He also warned landlords against failing to obtain rent cards, cautioning that those who violate the legal requirements could face prosecution and imprisonment.
Opoku said the planned deployment would strengthen the Commission’s enforcement efforts and ensure landlords comply with rent regulations.
