Ghanaian musician Odakky Andy, a Mentor 1 alum, has claimed he was the first artist to introduce the “Ah Bwoy” signature later associated with dancehall musician Stonebwoy.
Odakky Andy suggested that Stonebwoy may have drawn inspiration from him when they were both members of the Hi-Grade Family.
He explained on Kumasi-based Angel FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, that the two musicians shared a close relationship and frequently interacted as part of the same musical circle.
“I was the first artiste to introduce the ‘Ah Bwoy’ signature used by Stonebwoy. I’m sure he took the inspiration when we were both under Hi-Grade Family,” he said.
Odakky Andy further recalled their shared connection through Sammi, describing himself and Stonebwoy as part of the same circle.
“We were all Sammi boys. Stonebwoy and I,” he stated.
Although he suggested Stonebwoy may have picked up the signature from him, Odakky Andy maintained that their relationship remains cordial.
He described Stonebwoy as a brother, indicating that their connection has endured despite their individual journeys in the music industry.
“We used to talk more, but he is still a brother,” Odakky Andy added.
