Counsellor Frank Edem Adofoli has sugar daddy relationships can become complicated when one person stops accepting the direction of the relationship and starts wanting something different.
The life coach said people in such relationships often focus on the benefits they receive without thinking carefully about where the arrangement is going.
“He will define the kind of relationship they want, the direction,” Adofoli said.
He explained that problems can start when the woman enjoys the financial benefits but later realises that the relationship is not what she wants.
“They started tapping the goodness, and when they come to their sense that this is not a direction I want, then we start having problems,” he said.
Adofoli also said money is not the only thing people invest in such relationships.
“I tell you the emotional investment is huge,” he said, explaining that spending time together and developing an emotional bond can make the relationship more complicated.
He described sugar relationships as transactional but said the emotional side should not be ignored.
