Update: Salomey Awiti accused of recruiting people to circulate Ghana Jollof videos

The charge sheet in the case involving nurse Salomey Awiti Bafoh and Ghana Jollof, identified as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, alleges that Awiti assisted in distributing videos produced by the TikTok account operator.

According to the investigator’s brief facts, Barbara, who is currently in the United Kingdom, allegedly used her TikTok account, BAK @ Ghana Jollof, to produce and publish videos containing “offensive and inciting statements with the potential to provoke violence.”

The charge sheet alleges that one of the videos contained threats to overthrow the Government of Ghana and statements about burning Ghana.

Investigators further allege that Awiti, who lives in Techiman, collaborated with Barbara by recruiting other people to redistribute and circulate the videos on various social media platforms.

The document also alleges a financial arrangement between the two accused persons.

“Investigations further revealed financial arrangement between the two accused persons whereby the 2nd Accused, while domiciled in the United Kingdom, remitted monies to the 1st Accused in Ghana in support of these activities,” the investigator stated.

It further alleges that Salomay Awiti distributed portions of the money to other people involved in redistributing and recirculating the videos.

The investigator said investigations are continuing to identify and locate other people who allegedly participated in the distribution of the videos.
