Gospel musician and preacher Sonnie Badu has questioned Ghana’s tactical approach after the Black Stars were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup following a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the Round of 32.
Reacting after the match, which ended Ghana’s run at the tournament, he said he struggled to understand the decisions made by the technical team.
“I’m having trouble wrapping my head around this, it’s like something went terribly wrong,” he wrote on Facebook.
“The coach knew the winning strategy and had players ready to give it their all, but for some reason, he chose not to use them,” he added.
Sonnie Badu questioned the absence of certain players from the lineup.
“What happened to Ajeteh, Asante and Fataw? Were they injured?” he asked.
He further speculated about broader influences on the outcome, asking, “Was the outcome predetermined, ensuring Ghana’s elimination?”
He also made reference to match logistics and external factors, adding, “Looking at the stadium, it’s clear that if Colombia lost, ticket sales would plummet. Was there some kind of interference?”
