God forbid, I would never speak tribal – Stephen Amoah

Dr. Stephen Amoah has firmly denied claims that he suggested tribal considerations played a role in the opposition to his ministerial appointment.

Responding to questions from Serwaa Amihere, the MP rejected assertions that he implied the objector preferred someone from his own tribe.

“I never said that,” he stated on GHOne monitored by MyNewsGh. “God forbid. I would never say that.”

He clarified that saying someone preferred “his own person” did not equate to tribal bias.

“If somebody is from your hometown, is the person your tribe?” he asked. “Please.”

Dr. Amoah said he would not make statements that could fuel ethnic tensions, stressing that such claims were wrongly attributed to him.

“I’m asking for clarification because I never said that,” he repeated.

He insisted that the narrative being circulated did not reflect his actual words and accused critics of filling gaps with their own assumptions.

“Have I mentioned anybody?” he asked. “Why are people filling the space?”
