Michael Carrick opens up on his Manchester United job

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has dismissed suggestions that he has just two matches to turn around the club’s fortunes or risk losing his job.

Carrick addressed the reports on Monday during his pre-match press conference ahead of United’s Champions League encounter with Roma at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are currently enduring a difficult run, having gone nine consecutive matches without a victory in all competitions.

Reports have suggested that Carrick could be given two games to prove himself before the upcoming international break, but the manager insists he is not focused on such speculation.

“No, not at all. I can look into the future…you never know what is going to happen,” Carrick said.

“I can’t wait for the game tomorrow. You might think I’m crazy with the results we’ve had.

“Whatever happens is going to happen after that in whatever direction it goes in.”

United will welcome Roma to Old Trafford before turning their attention to a Premier League meeting with Aston Villa this weekend.
