Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced the establishment of a dedicated sports fund to provide consistent financial support for athletics nationwide.
Speaking to Bernard Avle of Channel One TV, monitored by MyNewsGh, Adams explained that governments have long cited funding as a major hurdle for sports development.
“With the blessing of His Excellency, the President, and Cabinet, we have successfully passed a sports fund,” Adams said.
He added that the fund draws from multiple sources, allowing for purposeful planning and reducing the reliance on ad hoc support from central sources or private individuals.
The Minister confirmed that the board overseeing the fund is already in place, with administrators actively managing resources.
