Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, has said there is a deliberate, malicious disinformation campaign not grounded in facts and issues against him and the institution he works for.
He says the campaign is intended to denigrate personalities and institutions and demonize them in the eyes of right-thinking Ghanaians.
“There is a difference between constructive criticism by opponents or critical voices and a deliberate malicious disinformation campaign not grounded on facts or issues but intended to denigrate personalities and institutions and demonize them in the eyes of right-thinking members of society and that is why we have had to respond to this matter the way we have,” he said.
Speaking on Joy News on Saturday, August 22, 2926, Sammy Gyamfi outrightly reiterated the position that GoldBod has made no losses in its activities.
According to him, the IMF report being referred to by the Minority Leader is clear that the Bank of Ghana is the entity that made losses.
“You’ll see clearly that they say that this is a loss under the Domestic Gold Purchase Programme incurred by the Bank of Ghana and not GoldBod,” he said.
He insisted that from the books and an audit everything clearly shows that GoldBod rather made surpluses.
